Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist, and even a commentator at NBC News in Washington D.C. She is also a television anchor. Mitchell graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing to be a part of New York City. In the year 1967, Mitchell was hired as a reporter at KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia. She was then a reporter for the CBS affiliate WDVM-TV, (then WTOP) which was based situated in Washington DC. In Washington, she was appointed general correspondent by NBC News a year later. In 1981, she began reporting on the White House. In 1988, she became the chief of the congressional reporters. In 1992, she was named as the Chief White House Correspondent and in 1994 was appointed chief foreign affairs reporter in NBC News. Mitchell participated on the TV show Meet the Press and also was the host for the show. Mitchell was a panelist at the 1988 debate in the 1988 debate between George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the wife of Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005 Mitchell received the highly coveted Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and in 2004 she was awarded the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) honored Mitchell with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award in recognition of her contributions to the protection for First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell first covered in the White House for NBC News from 1981-1988 during both of Ronald Reagan's terms as President. Mitchell reported on a variety of noteworthy stories, such as the Iran-contra scandal and tax reform. She traveled with Ronald Reagan during numerous trips to international summits, and also reported extensively.
